Yes! The engine is open source. The source code for the current version we’re using for Megamare X will be released alongside the game. In the meantime, you can download the source code for MLPOnline, this team’s previous project which used the same engine, here.
Megamare X itself will also be open source, along with its assets.
Patreon isn’t really suited to the project at this point.
